Philip Elliott Associates
Debt Recovery, Credit Control, Business Support
In uncertain financial times, the last thing busy companies or hard-pressed business folk want to do is to chase late or unpaid bills which can be a time-consuming and costly process.
Further to that, arguing your case forcefully but fairly and the prospect of coming face-to-face with lawyers and justice system can be a daunting prospect for the best of people who probably lack the expertise – as well as the time – to pursue payments.
So six years ago, I set up Philip Elliott Associates in order to help firms of all shapes and sizes recover their debts promptly and effectively, enabling them to concentrate on what they do best.
I now have more than 30 years’ experience in the field of credit control and debt management and had previously worked all over the UK before returning to my home city of Nottingham to establish the debt recovery department at a leading law firm.
It was a natural step to set up my own city centre business which soon expanded into credit control and legal services. We use our considerable legal and financial expertise to help businesses work more efficiently by improving cash flow, managing credit control processes and dealing with late-payers successfully and without fuss.
I am joined in this enterprise by Robyn Baxter who originally joined the company as a paralegal after graduating in law from Nottingham Trent University in 2015. She is now a partner in the firm, providing legal advice to clients on a range of issues.
We work with clients across the business spectrum, from construction and catering to designers and independent schools. They include small and medium-sized companies, established family businesses and sole traders.
As well as our debt recovery and credit control services, we also carry out credit checks, sifting through all the major industry databases to compile the information clients need to make the right business decisions.
We always strive to maintain good relationships between clients and debtors, emphasising the benefits of talking, negotiation and mediation and generally taking court action only as a last resort.
Using out contacts across the financial services sector, we can also offer general support and advice, providing businesses with a friendly face often when they need it most.
We pride ourselves on offering a bespoke service to everyone with whom we work: we get to know a business and its people so that we can provide a service that is tailored to their needs.
